The tour of this mosque organized especially for non-Muslims is aimed at promoting cultural understanding among them and letting them to have a first-hand experience as an insight to the Islamic religion. Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding, a non-profit organization, organizes this visit to the Jumeirah Mosque.
Usually Jumeirah Mosque Tours are organized on every Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday at 10am sharp. Children visiting this mosque must be of the age of 5 years. Morning is the ideal time for the tourists and residents to visit the place. The visitors need to gather outside the beautifully decorated Jumeirah Mosque. From there the tourists are taken for the conducted tour of the Jumeirah Mosque and a detailed understanding of Islamic culture. Fees for the tour are 10Dhs for each.

Prior booking is necessary for entering this mosque. You will have to assemble at the back yard of the Jumeirah Mosque at 10.00am sharp on Thursdays. Women need to remain covered. They can wear long skirts or trousers, long sleeves shirts or tops, hat or scarf is a must for covering head. Gentlemen must wear trousers, T-shirts or shirt and a vest is a strict no. Shoes are needed to be take-off outside the mosque. ‘Masjid’ is the Arabic word for mosque, which means place of prostration. Friday is considered to be the holy day of the Islamic week is Friday, ‘yaum al jum’a’, on which day Muslim men must go to the Jumeirah Mosque for prayer. |
