Dubai Zoo is located right in the midst of lush greeneries in the suburb of Jumeirah. And, Dubai Zoo is being identified as the greenest spot in Dubai. It is interesting to know the history of Dubai Zoo. Otto J. Bulart got the order to set up a zoo from H. H. Sheikh Rashid bin Maktoum, the former ruler of Dubai on a two hectacre plot in Jumeirah. Presently, Dubai Zoo is counted as a city's landmark, the "town's end". In the initial years, Dubai Zoo had only few common animals like big cats, hoofed animals and monkeys along with a small acquarium with reptiles and fishes.

The renovation plan also included redesigning of the zoo and the renovation process continued from May 1986 to May 1989. The process of renovation is still on and this indicates steady maintenance of Dubai Zoo.|
